Read all of my blogs!
Okay, this is for all you dorks that use mySpace. I'm sick of blog entries being referred to as "blogs". They're just "entries", for crying out loud!
But let me explain...
The word "blog" is short for "weblog". This is a compound word, made-up of two smaller words: "web" and "log". "Web" being the place, and "log" being the thing. In case you're not familiar with logs, they are large pieces of wood, generally created by lumberjacks or large pieces of machinery when trees are cut into smaller sections. They're also books in which collections of independent thoughts can be found. Following this logic, this makes the blog the entire collection of entries, not just the single entry itself. So, what you're reading right now is just an entry in my blog.
So the next time you hear that pre-teen girl say, "OMG! You, like, totally have to, like, read so-and-so's blog about her overbite, like!" You can retort, "So-and-so must be a real loser if she can write a whole blog about her overbite!"
